When the Eagle and the Hawk Appear Together: A Message of Balance
If there’s something I could just sit and watch, besides staring at the moon, it’s watching eagles soar.
So poised, carefree, gentle. They may be a little clunky at takeoff—but honestly, so am I. But once they’re in the air, they just soar. They see things from that “bird’s-eye view,” and I’m so envious sometimes. To see the world the way the eagles do and be so effortless in the air.
Since December of 2021, eagles have been showing up for me in so many ways. Almost daily. And if there’s not an eagle, there’s a red-tailed hawk—some days I’m lucky enough to see both.
I’ve always had a feeling about it. Like they were reminding me that things are okay—that I’m protected, seen, and loved from above.
Today, I needed that reminder.
I was sitting in my office, struggling. One of those days where it takes everything in you just to get your shit together and do the things. Maybe it’s perimenopause, maybe it’s the new moon in Pisces, maybe it’s Maybelline… but ooof.
Then I looked out my window.
An eagle, soaring.
Instantly, my nervous system calmed.
And then—a hawk. The biggest one I’ve ever seen. Flying right alongside it.
I just knew there was something in that moment.
So I looked into it.
Seeing a bald eagle and a hawk flying together symbolizes the union of higher vision and practical focus. It represents a balance between spiritual connection and grounded awareness—the ability to see both the bigger picture of your life and the details needed to move through it.
The eagle represents the higher perspective—the reminder to rise above, trust, and stay connected to something bigger.
The hawk represents focused awareness—the ability to notice what’s right in front of you, to move with clarity and intention.
Together, the message is clear:
balance your idealism with action.
Dream, but also move.
Trust, but also pay attention.
Stay connected, but stay grounded.
Ultimately, it felt like a reminder that I already have both.
The vision to see where I’m going…
and the awareness to take the steps to get there.
And maybe more than anything—it was just a reminder that I’m supported.
I truly appreciate moments like this. The ones that feel like little winks from the universe.
Because no matter how hard the day feels…
I’m not letting the hard days win.
